Believe in Fairy Tales

Good evening everyone,

I'm so sorry for the late post, the day got away from me :) For my card today, I decided to enter the Friday Sketcher Challenge over on the Friday Sketcher Challenge Blog (you can view the sketch and other entries at http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/). This week's sketch was designed by Claudia Rosa, who is one of the most talented stampers I've ever seen!

For my card today, I stamped my new Reading Tilda with Memento black ink onto Georgia Pacific cardstock, colored her with my copics, and cut her out. I then created my card base, which measures 5x7, out of SU's Pretty in Pink and then layered on top of that SU's Certainly Celery followed by SU's Close to Cocoa, followed by my designer paper from DCWV Nana's Nursery stack (baby girl). I used my Creative Memories corner rounder punch on all the layers. I adhered a ribbon I found at Michael's and then created my scallops and circle out of my nestabilities. I adhered the circle and scallops to the card base using dimensionals. I then adhered Tilda using dimensionals.

The sentiment is by Verve stamps. I chose this sentiment because when I saw this Tilda stamp, I was reminded of reading as a child and what a great impact reading had on me. I always loved to read fairy tales and even to this day, I often settle down with one of my favorite children's books for a good read. I stamped the sentiment onto Certainly Celery and layered that onto Pretty in Pink. I then adhered the sentiment with dimensionals.

For finishing touches, I placed Glossy Accents on Tilda's glasses and Diamond Stickles on her wings. I placed pearls from Michael's on the corners of the card base, and placed primas, centered with a Martha Stewart pearl, in the upper left corner.

I would love to hear what you think. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Christine :)
