Try It Out Tuesday #12 - An Enchanted Gift Set

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday :) It's another Try It Out Tuesday Challenge over at Susana's Store Blog, Follow Your Heart. Our challenge this week was to create a gift set containing one card and two other gift items. I decided to make a little gift set for my niece.

I decided to use This Castle and Natasha for the main images on my card. I stamped the castle three times for added dimension, colored the images with copics, and adhered them to the image panel with lots of dimensionals (if you would like to see my tutorial on how to create this scene, click HERE). I next created my card base, which measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2, out of SU's Pretty in Pink. I layered Perfect Plum on top of that followed by my design paper from DCWV's Once Upon a Time stack. I added a pink ribbon, and then I adhered my image panel with dimensionals. I added my sentiment (which is from Studio G) and Primas and pearls.

Next, using a technique I found HERE, I made my bookmark and slid it right under the image panel on the front of the card. I used Mini Natasha as my main image on my bookmark. I colored her with copics and cut her out with my circle Nestabilities. I added purple glitter to her wings using my Sakura glitter pen. The sentiment is from Stamping Bella.

Finally, I made a little boxy bag, which I filled with candy. I again used Mini Natasha as my main image. The sentiment is from a new Studio G set.

What do you think? I hope my niece likes it, I think this would make a darling set for any little princess :) Thanks so much for stopping by. Make sure to check out the Follow Your Heart Blog to see the other amazing creations from the rest of the DT. I'll see you back here tomorrow with another project.

Lots of Hugs, Christine :)

Believe

Hello everyone and Happy Monday :) I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a great start. For my card today, I decided to ink up this gorgeous fairy, Bryony, from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. I love all the fairies that Susana carries, but I think Bryony is my favorite :) I inked the image with Memento Black Ink and stamped her onto PTI cardstock. I colored her with copics and added glitter to her wings. It's hard to tell in the picture, but I actually stamped her a second time and popped her out so it really looks like she's sitting on the mushroom in 3D. I then inked around the image with Versamagic Pretty Petunia Ink.

Next, I created my card base, which measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2, out of SU's Pretty in Pink. I layered Perfect Plum on top of that followed by my design paper from Basic Grey. I used my SU ticket corner punch on the corners and added purple rhinestones. I added a purple ribbon, and then adhered my image to the cardstock and then to the card base with dimensionals. The sentiment is from one of the new Studio G stamps from the fairy collection that just came out. For a finishing touch, I added Primas and mini roses to the card. What do you think?

I'd love to see what you think of my card. Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day and I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Hugs, Christine :)

Flower Petals

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday :) I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. For my card today, I decided to ink up this adorable stamp from the Eat Cake Graphics Line of rubber stamps available at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. This image is Fairy Rose Sprinkles Petals and I think she's so sweet :)

I inked the image with Memento Black Ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock, and colored her with copics. I added Stickles to her wings and glitter to the flower petals from my Sakura glitter pen. I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch for my layout. My cardstock is SU (Regal Rose and Always Artichoke). My design paper is from DCWV's Nana's Nursery (baby girl) stack. I used my SU ticket corner punch on the corners of the image, then mounted the image to my cardstock. I added pink rhinestones to hte corners, then mounted the image with dimensionals. For some finishing touches, I added a pink ribbon and pink Primas (these are my new favorite Primas, I love the embossing on them).

I'd love to see what you think of my card. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Hugs, Christine :)

Happy Easter

Hi everyone and Happy Thursday. I am so glad the weekend is almost here! :) I have a super quick posting for you today. I am way behind on my Easter cards so I decided to ink up this adorable Magnolia stamp. I colored her with copics and added just a little bit of glitter to the centers of the flowers with my Sakura glitter pen. The sentiment is an old Studio G stamp from Michael's. I used my circle nestabilities to cut it out. My cardstock is from SU (Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip) and my design paper is Basic Grey. I used my SU ticket corner punch on all corners and added pearls. I added a pink ribbon and Primas for some finishing touches. What do you think?

Also, today on Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart, my DT sister Danni has an awesome tutorial on the Crinkled Chalk technique, so make sure to check it out.

That's it from me today. I'd love to see what you think of my card. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Try It Out Tuesday #11 - Just a Note

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday :) It's Tuesday so that means another Try it Out Tuesday challenge over at Susana's Store Blog, Follow Your Heart. Our challenge this week was to create a card using a new Anki's Sweetheart image, two layers, and two embellies. I chose the adorable Julia With Purse as my main image. I think she's just adorable :) I inked her with Memento black ink, stamped her onto PTI cardstock, and colored her with copics. I added stickles to her purse and outfit, and I added glitter from my Gold Copic Glitter Pen to her belt. I used my Large Circle Nestabilities and my scalloped circle nesties to cut out my image and my cardstock.

All of my cardstock is by SU (Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery). My design paper is from Debbie Mumm's Little Girl stack. My two embellies were ribbon and a Prima flower (I sort of cheated and also added a pearl to the center of the Prima :) ). The sentiment is from Hot Off the Press (the set is called Tiny Words and is a wonderful, versatile set). I used my SU Word Window Punch to punch out the sentiment.

I'd love to hear what you think of my card. Make sure to check out Susana's Store Blog to see the other wonderful creations from the rest of Susana's Design Team. We'd also love it if you'd like to join in on these challenges. If you do join in and upload your work on SCS and/or PCP, make sure to put "tiot11" in the key words section so we can all see. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project :)

Once Upon a Time

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday :) I don't know about you all, but I am so glad that the weekend is only 2 days away! :) I am so excited, I just completed my first tutorial. This one is a step by step tutorial on how I created this fairy tale scene. I am asked quite often how I create the fairy tale scenes on my cards and I decided this would make a perfect tutorial. You can see my tutorial on Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart. I'd love to hear what you think of the tutorial so please head on over and check it out if you have a minute.

For my card, I used this week's sketch challenge over on Splitcoast for my layout. My cardstock is all SU (Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose) and my design paper is from Basic Grey. The sentiment is from Stamping Bella and for finishing touches, I added Primas and pearls. To see how I made this card, please check out my tutorial HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday and Happy St. Patrick's Day :):):) Today is Tuesday, which means another challenge day over at Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart. Suzanne Dean, our DT leader, does a great job of coming up with challenges for us every week. Our challenge this week was to create a St. Patrick's Day inspired card using any of the stamps Susana carries in her store as well as shades of green and one neutral. I love challenges like this one because they really allow me to think outside the box and get multiple uses out of my stamps.

For this challenge, I decided to ink up this gorgeous fairy stamp, Sassafras. I colored her with my copics, added green rhinestones to the centers of the flowers in her hair, and added Stickles to her wings. I used my circle nesties to cut her out. My cardstock and design paper is from SU. I used my SU ticket corner punch on the corners and added green rhinestones. The sentiment is from a $1 Studio G set from Michael's. For a finishing touch, I added glittery foam shamrock stickers (from Michael's) and a white ribbon to the card.

I'd love to hear what you think of my card. Make sure to check out the store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see what the other wonderful DT members have created this week. We'd also love for you to join in on these challenges. If you do join in, and upload your photos to SCS or PCP, make sure to put tiot10 in the keywords section. Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day :):):)

Dare to Dream

Hi everyone and Happy Monday. I have a super quick post for you as I'm running late and must get to work. I've had this stamp set (called Dreams and Dragons from SU) for quite some time now (I bought if off of SCS) but haven't had the chance to ink ink it up. I finally had some time yesterday to play with it and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I stamped the castle three times, colored with copics, cut out the various pieces, and popped them up for dimension. I stamped all the little characters out, colored them with copics, added lots of glitter, and adhered them with dimensionals to the scene. My cardstock is all SU (Always Artichoke and Regal Rose) and my design paper is from Debbie Mumm. I added a pink ribbon and primas and rhinestones for finishing touches. What do you think?

I hope you all have a wonderful day. I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Lots of Hugs, Christine :)

A Mojo Sketch and a Strawberry Hello

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday :) I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I have two projects to share with you today. For my first card, I decided to ink up this beautiful fairy, Mini Kyra and this awesome castle scene, Cliff Dweller as my main images. I colored them both with copics and sponged Versamagic Aegean Blue ink around the images for a night sky look. I added Candle Light Shimmerz to the moon, stickles to the Krya's wings, Silver Shaped Geo Sparklers to the center of the flowers, a crystal rhinestone to the center of the flower in Kyra's hair, and stars (from Michael's). Whew, that's a lot of embellies! :):):) I used my circle and scalloped circle nesties to cut Kyra out.

I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch for my layout. All cardstock is PTI (White and Shimmer Night Sky). I sponged around all pieces of white cardstock with my Versamagic Aegean Blue ink. The sentiment is also from Susana's store and can be found HERE. For a finishing touch, I added three navy pearls to the side. What do you think?

For my second card today, I wanted to do a cute little note card for a friend, so I decided to ink up this cute strawberry from Polkadot Pie. I inked the image with Memento black ink, colored it with copics, and cut it out. My cardstock is by SU (Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose) and my design paper is from DCWV's Sweet Stack. I used my scalloped circle nesties to cut out the circle and adhered the strawberry with dimensionals. What do you think?

I'd love to hear what you think of my cards. Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll be back here tomorrow with another project.

Life is in the Little Things

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday! :):) I'm so sorry I've been absent this week. The Internet died on our home computer so I was unable to upload photos all week. Hubby was finally able to fix it and hopefully I'll be back to my regular posting routine :)

I have two projects for you today. The first uses another adorable image from the brand new Anki's Sweethearts Line available exclusively at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. This particular image is called Cathrine with Butterfly and I think she's just gorgeous. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink, stamped her onto PTI cardstock, and colored her with my copics. By the way, if you are interested in copics, or want to know some great colors that go together, check out Susana's store HERE. Suzanne Dean, Susana's DT leader, has put together some awesome copic bundles of colors that are perfect for coloring skin tones, hair, landscapes, etc. Suzanne has also put together some amazing and easy to follow tutorials on the store blog, Follow Your Heart (just look on the sidebar under "Copic Bundle Tutorials").

Getting back to my card, I added some stickles to the image, then cut her out with my circle nesties. All cardstock is by SU (Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery). My design paper is from DCWV's Nana's Nursery stack (baby girl). I used my fiskar's threading water punch on the smaller piece of design paper, then added a pink ribbon and adhered my image with dimensionals. The sentiment is from Verve and I cut it out using my circle and scalloped circle nesties. For a finishing touch, I added Primas and pink rhinestones. What do you think?

For my second card today, I decided to ink up this adorable image from Pink Cat Studio. I colored her with copics and added lots of Stickles and glitter from my Sakura glitter pen. All cardstock is SU (Bordering Blue and Always Artichoke) and my design paper is from DCWV's new Garden Party stack (love this paper, it's gorgeous!!). I added a blue ribbon and bow to the card, then mounted my image onto my SU cardstock with dimensionals. I used my SU ticket corner punch on the corners and added green rhinestones. The sentiment, which I adhered with dimensioanls, is from the same Pink Cat Studio set. For a finishing touch, I added Primas and blue rhinestones. What do you think?

Whew, sorry for the long post today :) After not blogging all week, I guess I just had a lot to say :) I'd love to hear what you think of my projects. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

I colored the image with my copics and added glitter to the flowers with my Sakura Glitter Pen and Glossy Accents to the water in the bucket. All cardstock is from SU (Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, and Blush Blossom) and my design paper is from Debbie Mumm's Baby Girl stack. For a finishing touch, I added Primas and pearls.

Happy Endings

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! :) I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a great start. I'm still trying to get adjusted from springing forward an hour (for some reason, Daylight Savings Time always takes me a couple days to recover :) ).

For my card today, I decided to ink up this really cool castle I found hidden away in my stamp room over the weekend. I'm not sure who makes that stamp, but if you're interested, send me an e-mail and I'll find out. I inked the castle up with Memento black ink and stamped it four times onto PTI cardstock. I colored it with copics and cut the various layers out to give it some added dimension and pop. I also added purple glitter from my Sakura glitter pen to the flags. Next, I stamped Princess Charlotte and Knight Charlie from Whiff of Joy's new medieval collection onto PTI cardstock, colored them with copics, and cut them out. I added gold stickles to the princess's crown, a purple rhinestone, and brown rhinestones for buttons. I added some purple glitter accents to the knight as well.

I used last week's Mojo Monday Sketch for my layout. All cardstock is from SU (Chocolate Chip, Perfect Plum, and Pale Plum) and my design paper is from DCWV's Once Upon a Time stack. My sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

Also, I wanted to remind you all, make sure you get your work submitted for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design's DT call, you only have a few more days to enter! :)

I'd love to hear what you think of my card. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Hugs, Christine :)

Welcome Spring

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday! :) I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Hubby and I had a super busy day today, but we're finally home. It is so lovely outside. It was in the 70s today and is supposed to be just as warm tomorrow. I am loving it! :)

In honor of spring, I decided to ink up this gorgeous image from Young Cathrine With Friends image from the Anki's Sweethearts line available exclusively at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock, and colored it with copics. I added Cotton Candy Stickles to the flower on Cathrine's shirt. I then created my card base, which measures 5 1/4 by 5 1/4, out of SU's Certainly Celery. I layered Pretty in Pink on top of that followed by Barely Banana, followed by my design paper from Debbie Mumm's Little Girl line. I added a Pretty in Pink ribbon and bow, and then adhered my image to my SU cardstock and then to the card base with dimensionals. For a finishing touch, I added Primas and a pearl. It's a pretty simple layout, but I wanted the fun spring colors and the image to take center stage.

I'd love to hear what you think of my card. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back on Monday with another project.

Big Hugs, Christine :)

Just Because

Hello everyone and Happy Friday! :) I'm so glad the weekend is here. Any exciting plans for the weekend?

For my card today, I decided to ink up this darling image from Sugar Nellie. I've actually had this image for quite some time and finally had a chance to ink it up. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink and stamped it onto PTI cardstock. I colored the image with copics, added some glitter with my Sakura glitter pen, and added yellow rhinestones to the flower centers on her hat. I added Yellow Flowersoft from the Pastel Collection to the tulips (make sure to check out Pez-A-Doodle Designs, Marti has great prices on all the Flower Soft kits).

All cardstock is SU (Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, and Pretty in Pink) and the design paper is from Basic Grey's new Porcelin collection. I added a pink ribbon from JoAnn's. I used my SU Ticket Corner punch on the the corners of the image and added pearls. The sentiment is from Hot Off the Press's Tiny Words Set (I love this set, the sentiments are so versatile). I used my SU Word Window Punch to punch out the sentiment and added pearls.

What do you think? Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project. Have a lovely weekend! :)

Try It Out Tuesday #8 - Shopping Divas

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday :) Well, luckily the big snow storm that hit the east missed us (literally by just a few miles), but it sure is cold here. I'm so ready for warmer weather :)

Well, today is Tuesday, which means it's another challenge day over at Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart. Our challenge this week was to use any of Susana's own stamps from her own stamp line, Susana Loves Stamps as a charm element on our card. I had so much fun with this project, I decided to do two cards :)

For my first card, I used this wonderful Rubber Romance stamp, Vivian as my main image. I inked her up with Memento Black Ink, stamped her onto PTI cardstock, and colored her in with copics. I paper pieced her purse, the shoe boxes, and her dress with paper from DCWV's new La Creme paper line (this paper is gorgeous and very elegant). All cardstock is SU (Basic Black and Very Vanilla) and all design paper is from the La Creme stack. I added a cream ribbon and then I used one of Susana's stamps, the High Heel as my charm accent. I stamped it onto Very Vanilla cardstock and used my SU 1 1/4 circle punch to punch it out. I placed it under the ribbon to look like a charm.

For my second card, I used Melanie as my main image. Again, all cardstock is SU (Basic Black and Very Vanilla) and my design paper is from DCWV's La Creme stack. I paper pieced her dress and shopping bags and colored her with copics. I added black rhinestones to the corners of the image, added a black ribbon, and used the high heel again as my charm element. What do you think?

I'd love to hear what you think of my cards. Make sure to check out the store blog, Follow Your Heart to see the amazing creations of Susana's DT. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Hugs, Christine

A Medieval Feast

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday! :) I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I was able to spend lots of time in the craft room yesterday and was able to get two cards done for you today. The first card is my submission for the Whiff of Joy Guest Designer Challenge over at the Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog. Our challenge was a sketch challenge. It would be a dream come true to guest design for such a wonderful stamp company. For my submission, I decided to ink up my brand new stamps from WOJ's new Medieval Collection. As I'm sure you all know, I love my fairy tales, so these stamps were right up my alley :)

I first stamped the Banquet Hall with Memento Black Ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock and colored it with my copics. I added some glitter with my Sakura glitter pen and some Glossy Accents. I also used my white gel pen to add some starts to the night sky outside of the windows. I next stamped Maid Charlotte and King's Jester Charlie onto a separate piece of PTI cardstock, colored them with copics, and cut them out. I added lots of stickles :)

I used SU cardstock (Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke) for my card. My design paper is from DCWV's Once Upon a Time stack. I used my new Fleur de Lis EK Success border punch for the border at the bottom. For some finishing touches, I added a green ribbon from Michael's and a Prima flower. What do you think?

For my second card today, I decided to make another card using the same sketch by Katharina. I really love working with this sketch and couldn't help it :) I stamped this adorable Princess Charlotte stamp onto PTI cardstock and colored her with copics. I added and gold Stickles to her crown and dress, a pink rhinestone to her crown, and pearls as buttons for her dress. All cardstock is SU (Regal Rose and So Saffron). My design paper is from Imaginisce's Fairest of Them All line (these papers are so cute!) :) I used my Fiskar's Threading Water border punch for the border at the bottom of the card. My sentiment is from Verve. I used my circle nesties to cut it out. For some finishing touches, I added pink ribbon, Primas, and a pearl. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. I'd love to hear what you think of my projects. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and I'll see you back here tomorrow :)

Hugs, Christine
