Just Magnolia -- Tilda With Hearts

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday! :) Hope you are having a wonderful week. It's been busy around here! I may be scarce for the rest of the week after today's posting. My dad is getting remarried on Saturday (we lost my mom almost 4 years ago to ovarian cancer) and I'm so excited for him that he's found someone special. I agreed to do all the place cards for the luncheon so I have to finish those up. I'll try to post at least once before Saturday, then after that, I should be back into my regular schedule.

Okay, onto my card for today :) Our challenge this week over at the new Just Magnolia Challenge Blog was to use pink and green on our cards. I used this week's Sketch Saturday sketch as my layout. I decided to ink up this adorable Tilda With Hearts image. I inked her with Memento Black Ink, stamped her onto PTI cardstock, and colored her with copics. It's hard to see from the picture, but I added some Shimmerz to the hearts. Next, I created my card base, which measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2, out of SU's Pretty in Pink. I layered Certainly Celery on top of that followed by my design paper from Debbie Mumm. I cut out a piece of cardstock using my new Labels 4 Nestabilities, adhered Tilda to that and to the card base with dimensionals. I used my Martha Stewart Lace Doily border punch on the bottom, then added a ribbon and Blue Moon Heart Charm. Finally, I added Primas for a finishing touch.

I'd love to hear what you think of my card. Thank you so much for stopping by. I'll be back soon with another project. Have a wonderful day! :)

Try It Out Tuesday #16 - Just a Note

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday :) Today is Tuesday so that means it's another Try It Out Tuesday Challenge over at Susana's, of Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, Store Blog, Follow Your Heart. Our challenge this week was to use only part of one of the stamps Susana carries. This was a really neat challenge because it really shows the versatility of so many of these stamps.

I decided to use this adorable Emilia With Heart image from the Anki's Sweethearts Stamp Line, available exclusively at Susana's Store. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock, and colored it with my copics. I added some Shimmerz to the flower on her shirt and the hearts on her pants, and then I cut the image out, eliminating the heart image. This way, the only part of the stamp that I used was the little girl.

Next, I created my card base, which measures 5 1/4 by 5 1/4, out of SU's Pretty in Pink. I Layered Bashful Blue on top of that followed by my design paper from Debbie Mumm. I used my Scalloped Oval Nestabilities to cut out my cardstock and then adhered the image with dimensionals. I added a pink ribbon and a Heart Charm as well as Primas and Pearls for finishing touches. The sentiment is from Hot Off the Press (the set is called Tiny Words). I cut it out with my Word Window Punch.

What do you think? Well, that's it for me today. Make sure to stop by Susana's Store Blog to see amazing creations the rest of the DT have come up with. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project. Have a wonderful day! :)

Whiff of Joy Challenge -- Love You

Hello everyone and Happy Monday :) I hope your week is off to a great start. I have a super quick post for you as I'm running out the door shortly to work. For my card today, I decided to participate in this week's challenge over at the Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog. Our challenge this week was a sketch challenge. I decided to use this adorable Melinda Blowing Kisses image. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock, and colored it with copics. I added some Shimmerz to the hearts and her bracelet and some Diamond Stickles to her wings. I then cut the image out using the brand new Labels 4 Nestabilities (Susana carries all the new nesties, click HERE to check them out. I then inked around the image with SU's Close to Cocoa ink.

Next, I created my card base, which measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2, out of SU's Regal Rose. I layered Chocolate Chip on top of that followed by my design papers from Basic Grey (Bittersweet Collection). I added brown ribbon and Glitter Hearts and Primas and Pearls. Finally, I added my sentiment, which is from Hot Off the Press (the set is called Tiny Words and is a wonderful, versatile sentiment set). I used my SU Word Window Punch to cut out the sentiment. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. I hope you all have a wonderful week. I'll be back tomorrow with another project. Until then :)

Two Great Friends

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday! :) I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. It's going to be near 80 degrees here today and tomorrow so we're heading out to enjoy the beautiful weather.

For my card today, I decided to ink up this beautiful image from Rubber Romance, Julia. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink and colored it with copics. It's hard to tell in the picture, but I added Diamond Glaze to the coffee cup. Next, I created my card base, which measures 5 1/4 by 5 1/4, out of SU's Apricot Appeal. I then layered Certainly Celery on top of that followed by my design paper from Debbie Mumm. For a finishing touch, I added Primas and Pearls. The sentiment is from MFT. It's a pretty simple card, and I definitely used colors outside my comfort zone, but I'm pleased with how it turned out :) What do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'll hopefully be back tomorrow with another project if the nice weather doesn't distract me too much :)

Sketch Saturday -- Tilda With Tulips

Hi everyone and Happy Thursday :) I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I have a quick posting for you this morning before I head to work. I decided to ink up this gorgeous Magnolia image, Tilda with Tulips. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink and stamped it onto PTI cardstock. I colored the image with my copics, added some Shimmerz to the Tulips, and then cut the image out. I used this week's sketch over at the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog for my layout. All cardstock is from SU (Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery) and my design paper is from Basic Grey's Porcelin pack. I used my Circle Nestabilities and scalloped circle nesties as well as my scalloped rectangle nestabilities. I used my SU photo corner punch on two of the corners of the card. I also added a pink ribbon and bow and Primas for a finishing touch. What do you think?

In other news, Susana, of Susana's Custom Art and Card Design is having some great sales. The adorable Smirk Stamps are 50% off. Doodlebug Flock is also on sale so make sure to stop by and check it out. Also, make sure to check out Susana's Store Blog, Follow Your Heart today. My DT sistah Aud did an awesome tutorial for us on how to make corner bookmarks so make sure to check it out.

Well, that's it from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day :)

Try It Out Tuesday #15 - Hey Girlfriend

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday :) Today is Tuesday so it's another Try It Out Tuesday Challenge over at Susana's, of Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, store blog, Follow Your Heart. Our wonderful DT leader, Suzanne, challenged us this week to add as much glitter and bling as we could to our card. I love glitter and bling so this was a super fun challenge for me :)

Here's a picture of my card without the flash. It's a bit difficult to see the shimmer and bling so here are two more pictures with the flash on that really show the shimmer and shine:

For my main image, I decided to use this fun and sassy Rubber Romance image, Three Girlfriends. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock, and colored it with copics. I added Ruby Red Liquid Pearls to the lips of two of the ladies for lipstick, White Opal Liquid Pearls to the outfits of the lady on the far left and the far right, Shimmerz to all handbags, and a Kaisercraft Soft Pink Rhinestone to the necklace on the lady in the middle. These ladies are stylin' :) I next stamped the sentiment, from Hanna Stamps, onto the image panel.

Next, I created my card base, which measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2, out of SU's Regal Rose. I layered Basic Black on top of that followed by Elegant Eggplant, followed by my design paper from Basic Grey. I used my ticket corner punch on my image panel, adhered it to my SU cardstock and to the card base with dimensionals, and added Pearls to the corners. I added a separate panel and used my new Fiskars Diamond border punch along the bottom. I then added a purple ribbon and bow and a Heart Charm to the bottom of the card. For a finishing touch, I added Primas.

I'd love to hear what you think of my card. Thank you so much for stopping by. Don't forget to stop by Susana's Store Blog, Follow Your Heart to see what the other amazing DT members have created. I'll see you back here tomorrow with another project. Hope you all have a wonderful day :)

May Your Dragons Be Few

Hello everyone and Happy Monday! :) It's an icky, rainy day here today, but at least we had a gorgeous weekend. Hope your week is off to a great start.

For my card today, I used the sketch from last week's Sketch Saturday Challenge as my layout. I decided to ink up these adorable images from Whiff of Joy's new Medieval Collection ( Warrior Charlie and Draco the Dragon). I inked the images with Memento Black Ink and stamped them onto PTI cardstock. I colored the images with my copic markers, then cut Charlie out. I inked around the dragon image with SU's Close to Cocoa ink and then adhered Charlie to the dragon image panel with dimensionals.

Next, I created my card base, which measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2, out of SU's Chocolate Chip. I layered Always Artichoke on top of that followed by my design paper from DCWV's Once Upon a Time stack. I then adhered the image panel to my SU cardstock and to the card base with dimensionals. The sentiment is from a retired SU set, Dreams and Dragons. I used my SU ticket corner punch on the corners and added green rhinestones. I also added green rhinestones to the top left corner of the image panel. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll see you back here tomorrow with another project. Have a wonderful day :)

Dance

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday. It is a gorgeous day here today. It's sunny, no cloud in the sky, and is supposed to get up to 75 degrees. Hubby and I are going to go run some errands today and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Have you heard about the new Magnolia Challenge Blog, Just Magnolia? It's a new challenge blog that just posted its first challenge yesterday. I was so excited to hear of this new blog and couldn't wait to participate in the first challenge. Our challenge this week was a sketch challenge. I decided to ink up this gorgeous Ballet Princess Tilda from Magnolia stamps. I inked her up with Memento Black Ink and colored her with copics. I inked around the image with Versamagic Perfect Plumeria ink and then added Pink Stickles to her skirt. Next, I created my card base, which measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2, out of SU's Pretty in Pink. I layered Very Vanilla on top of that followed by my design paper from Basic Grey. I used my Circle Nestabilities and scalloped circle nesties on the background paper. I then adhered my image to my SU cardstock and to the card base with dimensionals. I then used my swirl punch to punch out the swirls and added pearls to the swirls and around the image. For a finishing touch, I added Primas.

For the inside, I decided to use this beautiful sentiment from Verve's Beautiful You Set. The sentiments in this collection are just gorgeous. I used my oval nesties to cut out the sentiment and my Circle Nestabilities to cut out the ballet slippers (also from Magnolia stamps). I used scraps of my design paper to decorate the inside. What do you think?

In other news, I received this blog award from my wonderful blogging friend, Brandi. Thank you so much Brandi for thinking of me and giving me this award. I'm supposed to pass this on to five more blogging friends that make me smile. Well, you all make me smile :) There's no way I could pick just five of you so this is for all of you, for everyone who takes the time to stop by my little blog every day and to all of you who have inspired me with your amazing creativity. Love you all :):):)

Well, that's it from me today, I'm going to head out and enjoy this beautiful day :) I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'll be back tomorrow with another project. See you then :)

Hugs, Christine

Just Because Gift Set

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday :) I have another quick post for you today (I've been doing a lot of "posting and running" this week, it's been busy around here :) Anyway, for my project today, I decided to make a mini pizza box and note card set for a friend of mine. I decided to ink up this beautiful Flowers in Chintz stamp from Karen Lockhart. I inked it with Memento Black, stamped it onto PTI cardstock, and colored it with copics. I added Kaiser Soft Pink Rhinestones to the flower centers, then used my Creative Memories corner rounder on the corners. Next, I created my mini pizza box out of SU's Pretty in Pink cardstock. I made a little tutorial for Susana's Store Blog, Follow Your Heart on the steps I take to make this cute little box. I in no way created this idea, so I cannot take credit for it. I just thought I'd do a little tutorial on how I personally make the box. :)

Next, I decorated the box. I used my Fiskar's Threading Water Punch and made a border along the bottom of the box. I then layered Barely Banana cardstock on top of the box followed by Certainly Celery, followed by my design paper from DCWV's Nana's Nursery stack (baby girl). I added a pink ribbon adn bow, and then adhered my image to my SU cardstock and then to the box with dimensionals. The sentiment is from a set called Tiny Words from Hot Off The Press. I used my SU Word Window Punch to cut it out. For a finishing touch, I added Primas.

Next, I made my notecards (I did two of each style). I used Flowers in Chintz and also Sweet Peas from Karen Lockhart. I used Flower Soft on both images. I used my SU ticket corner punch on the Sweet Peas image and then added Pearls.

Well, that's it for me today. I'd love to see what you think of my project. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Hello everyone and Happy Wednesday! I have another quick post for you this morning before I head off to work. I loved the sketch from last week's Whiff of Joy Challenge so I decided to use that as my layout. I inked up this new Blossom Fairy Charlotte with Memento Black Ink and colored her with copics. I added some Stickles to her wings and then cut the image out using my Circle Nestabilities. I then created my card base, which measures 5 1/2 out of 5 1/2, out of SU's Rose Red. I layered Regal Rose on top of that, followed by Chocolate Chip, followed by my design paper (retired from SU). I then used my scalloped circle nesties to cut out the scalloped circles, then adhered my image to the nesties and to the card base with dimensionals. I used my Fiskar's Threading Water punch on the bottom of the card and added a brown ribbon for a finishing touch.

I'd love to see what you think of my card. Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Hugs, Christine :)

Try It Out Tuesday #14 - Sketch and Color Challenge

Hi Everyone and Happy Tuesday! :) I hope you are all having a wonderful week. Today is Tuesday so it's another Try It Out Tuesday challenge over at Susana's (from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design) Store Blog, Follow Your Heart. Our challenge this week was a combination sketch and color challenge. We were to use a sketch created by our wonderful DT leader, Suzanne and we were also to only use the colors brown, pink, and white/cream (this happens to be one of my favorite color combinations so I had a lot of fun with this challenge :) ). I decided to ink up this gorgeous Rubber Romance stamp, Retro Robin as my main image. I love these RR stamps, they are so elegant. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock, and colored it with copics. I inked around the image with SU's Close to Cocoa ink to give it an elegant and distressed feel to it.

Next, I created my card base out of SU's Pretty in Pink. I layered Very Vanilla on top of that followed by Chocolate Chip, followed by my design paper (which is from an old SU retired set). I added Pearls to the corners of the image, then adhered the image to my SU cardstock and to the card base with dimensionals. For a finishing touch, I added three dew drops to the card base.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I would love to see what you think of my card. Make sure to stop by Susana's Store Blog to see the amazing creations the rest of the DT have come up with. We would love it if you would like to participate in any of the Try It Out Tuesday challenges. If you upload your work to SCS or PCP, make sure to put tiot14 in the keywords section so we can all see your work. Well, that's it for me today. Thanks again so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Herd It's Your Birthday

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday! :) I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. Hubby and I had a lovely visit at my dad's house and a super yummy Easter lunch. I ate way too much :)

Well, I have a quick post for you today, as I'm heading off to work. Yesterday was also my dad's birthday so I made this card for him. The image is a Penny Black image that I've had for a long time (I can't recall the name). I inked the image with Memento Black Ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock, and colored it with copics. All cardstock is from SU (Real Red, Brilliant Blue, and Close to Cocoa). My design paper is from Basic Grey. I inked around the edges of the image with Close to Cocoa ink, then adhered the image to the cardstock and to the card base with dimensionals. The sentiment if from an MFT set. A Mojo Sketch and Easter Flowers

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday! :):) I hope you are all having a wonderful Easter weekend. It's been a quiet weekend here so far, but luckily, my family lives close by so hubby and I are going to my dad's house tomorrow for all the Easter festivities. I actually have two cards for you today so I'll get to it :)

For my first card today, I decided to ink up these adorable stamps from Whiff of Joy's new Medieval Collection. I just love these stamps, they are just my style :) I inked Maid Charlotte and the Castle with Memento Black Ink, stamped them onto PTI cardstock, and colored them with copics. I added Diamond Glaze to the water in the moat surrounding the castle. I used Karen Foster's Pink Scrapper's Floss for the laces in Charlotte's bodice. I then used Flower Soft on the bouquet and Shimmerz on the flowers in her hair.

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for my layout (I love this layout and will definitely be using this one again. All cardstock is from SU (Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose) and my design paper is from DCWV's Once Upon a Time stack. I added a brown sheer ribbon and pearls. The sentiment is from Verve and I used my circle nestabilities and my scalloped circle nesties to cut it out. All image panels and the sentiment panel are adhered to the card base with dimensionals. I was really pleased with the way this one turned out. What do you think?

For my second card, I decided to ink up this gorgeous Sweet Peas Image from Karen Lockhart. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock, and colored it with my copics. I added Diamond Glaze to the vase and then added this gorgeous Flower Soft to the flowers. I inked around the image with SU's Old Olive ink. All cardstock is from SU (Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery). I used my SU ticket corner punch on the corners and added pearls. I ran my Pretty in Pink cardstock through the Cuddlebug using my Swiss Dots embossing folder. My design paper is from DCWV's Nana's Nursery stack. I added a pink ribbon, then adhered the image panel to the card base with dimensionals.

Whew, sorry for the super long post today :) Thanks so much for stopping by. I'd love to see what you think of my projects. I wish you all a wonderful Easter. If you haven't entered for a chance to win the amazing Elisabeth Bell Blog Candy over at Susana's Store Blog, make sure you do so by April 14th. This is some awesome blog candy you don't want to miss :) I'm taking tomorrow off, but will be back on Monday with another project. Until then :)

Easter Chicks

Hello everyone and Happy Friday! :) I hope you all have had a lovely week and have a lovely Easter weekend. For my card today, I decided to ink up this adorable egg wagon (from Magnolia stamps) and Tilda with Chicks (also from Magnolia). I inked both images up with Memento Black Ink, stamped them onto PTI cardstock, and colored both images with copics. I used my Circle Nestabilities to cut out the wagon and I cut Tilda out by hand. It's difficult to see in the picture, but I added some Shimmerz to the polka dots on Tilda's dress.

Next, I created my card base (which measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2) out of SU's Pretty in Pink. I layered Certainly Celery on top of that followed by Chocolate Chip, followed by my design paper from Basic Grey. I added a pink ribbon, then adhered my wagon image to my SU cardstock (which I cut out using my scalloped circle nesties) and then adhered the image panel to the card base with dimensionals. I then adhered Tilda with dimensionals. I used my SU ticket corner punch on the corners and added pearls for a finishing touch.

I'd love to see what you think of my card. Thank you so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project. If you haven't entered for a chance to win the amazing Elisabeth Bell Blog Candy over at Susana's Store Blog, make sure you do so by April 14th. This is some awesome blog candy you don't want to miss :)

Try It Out Tuesday #13 - Easter Wishes

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday :) Today marks another Try It Out Tuesday Challenge over at Susana's, from Susana's Custom Art and Card Deisgn, store blog, Follow Your Heart. This week, our challenge was to create an Easter or spring card or project.

I decided to ink up this adorable image from the new Anki's Sweethearts Line, available exclusively at Susana's store. I chose this adorable Young Cathrine With Friends as my main image. I inked the image with Memento Black Ink (this truly is the best ink to work with if you use copic markers) and stamped it onto PTI cardstock. I colored the image with my copics (don't forget that Susana is now carrying Copic Bundles at her store), added Gold Liquid Pearls to the patch on her pants leg, and added some Shimmerz to the flower on her shirt.

I used last week's Basic Grey Sketch Challenge as my layout. My cardstock is SU (Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, and Pretty in Pink) and all design paper is by Basic Grey. I adhered my image to my SU cardstock and to the card base with dimensionals. I used my Martha Stewart Lace Doily Border Punch on the bottom. I have seen so many wonderful bloggers decorate the insides of their cards lately so I decided to do the same on this card. I used scraps, as well as my scalloped circle nestie to cut out the sentiment panel. I then placed Gold Geo Shaped Sparklers by Stampendous around the scalloped circle for some extra shimmer.

What do you think? Thank you so much for stopping by. Don't forget about the Elisabeth Bell blog candy. Check out the store blog HERE to enter to win. Also, don't forget to check out the Store Blog to see the other wonderful creations the DT has come up with this week. Thanks again for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with another project :)

Tilda with Lamb

Hello everyone and Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start :) I have a super quick post for you today as I'm heading off to work. I just love this sweet Magnolia image from the new Easter collection. I first inked the fence (also from Magnolia stamps) with Memento Black Ink and stamped it onto PTI cardstock. I colored the scene with copics and cut it out with my circle nestabilities. I then added a mixture of Flower Soft to create a cute grassy scene. I used SU cardstock (Pretty in Pink and Always Artichoke). I mounted my fence scene onto my SU cardstock (which I cut out with my scalloped circle nestabilities) and adhered the image to the nesties with dimensionals. My design paper is from Basic Grey. I used my new Fiskar's Fleur De Lis border punch on the bottom of the image. I then stamped Tilda with Lamb with Memento Black Ink onto PTI cardstock, colored her with copics, cut her out, and adhered her with dimensionals. For a finishing touch, I added Primas and a Kaiser Pink Rhinestones.

Also, in other news, don't forget that Susana, of Susana's Custom Art and Card Design is giving away some awesome Elisabeth Bell Blog Candy.
