Happily Ever After

Happy Friday everyone! :) I'm so sorry I didn't get around to posting yesterday. I actually had this card finished and ready to go yesterday, but with it getting dark so much earlier now, I wasn't able to get a good picture.

My card for today is two challenges in one :) It is my submission for this week's challenge over at High Hopes. Our challenge this week was "Metal Madness." I also used the sketch from this week's sketch challenge over at Sketch Saturday.

I first stamped the stone wall(from High Hopes) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto PTI white cardstock and colored it in with copics. I masked the wall and stamped the castle (also from High Hopes) in the background and colored it in with copics. I then cut the image out using my new Labels 1 nesties. I then stamped the princess and the knight, colored them with copics, and cut them out. I added glitter to the princess using my Sakura Glitter pen. I also used a Gold Geo Shaped Sparkler Sticker in the big diamond on the princess's crown. These Sparklers are awesome, the picture doesn't do them justice. They really sparkle in real life.

Next, I created my card base, which measures 5 1/2 by 5 1/2, out of SU's Regal Rose. I layered So Saffron on top of that followed by Always Artichoke. My design paper is from Debbie Mumm's baby girl stack, which I found at JoAnn's. I then cut another label with my nesties out of SU's So Saffron and mounted that onto the card base with dimensionals. I adhered my castle scene on top of that with dimensionals. I then adhered the princess and the knight to the scene with dimensionals. I added a ribbon (from M's) and tied metal charms (lock and key, as in, you hold the key to my heart :) ) from Memory Makers in the ribbon. I also added Primas and a large metal brad from Deja Views. Finally, I stamped my sentiment, which I got from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design onto So Saffron, mounted it onto my other SU cardstock, and adhered it with dimensionals to the card base.

Phew, sorry for the long post! :) I hope you like the card. I made it for a dear friend who just got engaged. I hope she likes it :) I'd love to hear what you think. Thanks so much for stopping by. More tomorrow :)
Hugs, Christine :)
