Hello Friend

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday! :) I hope you are all having a fabulous day and a wonderful week. Everything is good here, just super busy. I'm looking forward to the weekend and hopefully lots more time in the craft room.

For my card today, I inked up this gorgeous image from Sweet Pea Stamps. This particular image was illustrated by the fabulous Elaine Cox and is called Little River Mermaid. I colored the image with copics (hair: E33, E35, E37; skin: E00, E01, E11, RV21; top: RV21, RV23, RV25; tail: B000, B02; grass: G21, G24, G28) and I added some Stardust Stickles to her top and to the flowers in her hair. Next I created my card base using SU cardstock (Tempting Turquoise and Passion Pink). This is the first time I've used these bright colors from SU and I really like them (I'm now sad they are retiring) :) The design paper is from DCWV's Blossoms and Butterflies stack. I used my SU Ticket Corner punch on all the corners and added pink rhinestones. For a finishing touch, I added roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

As always, thank you all so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day and I hope to see you back here tomorrow.

Christmas in April and Blog Candy Winner

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! :) I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a wonderful day. I was reorganizing my design paper over the weekend and found some gorgeous paper I had left over from my Christmas cards this past Christmas. I decided why not get ahead a little bit and make a Christmas card. I decided to create an easel card using an adorable image from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design.

For my card, I inked up the adorable image called Winter from SCACD. I colored the image with copics and then added lots of Diamond Stickles to her coat and the dog's scarf. I also added Glossy Accents to her eyes. Next I created my card base out of SU cardstock. The design paper is from K&Co. I added some snowflakes (from Me and My Big Ideas, I got them at Michael's) and some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy. What do you think?

I also wanted to post the winner of the blog candy offered in my Magnolia Once Upon a Time posting. The lucky winner is:

True Random Number Generator

Min: 1
Max: 30
Result: 26
Powered by RANDOM.ORG

That means the winner is my dear blogging friend Maria Matter!!! Maria please e-mail me your snail mail address and I'll get your goodies to you right away.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my Christmas in April post today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day! :)

A Good Book

Hi everyone and Happy Friday! :) I'm so glad the weekend is almost here, this has been a super crazy week. I'm so far behind in commenting on your beautiful creations, but I promise to get caught up this weekend. I did get a couple hours in the craft room last night and I have a card to share with you today. I've had the idea for this card for weeks, but just hadn't had the time to sit down and make it. I hope you like it :)

Do you like to read? Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I've always been that way, ever since I learned how to read, I've constantly got my nose in a book :) I can remember reading books when I was little and imagining castles, princesses, dragons, etc. It's amazing where reading can take you in your imagination. My idea for my card today was to pair the adorable reading Tilda from Magnolialicious with one of the images from the new Fairytale collection. I wanted to create a little scene on my card that showed Tilda reading a good book and imagining herself in another magical world.

Here is the front of my card:

I stamped Reading Tilda with Memento Black ink onto PTI cardstock and colored her with copics (hair: E33, E35, E37; skin: E00, E01, RV21; shirt and socks: R81, R83, R85; jeans: B32, B34). Next, I added some Stardust Stickles to her wings and hair band, and then I cut her out. I then created my card base out of SU cardstock (Close to Cocoa (so sad this color is retiring) and Red Rose). The design paper is all from My Mind's Eye Laundry Line.

The panel that Reading Tilda is sitting opens up like a book:

The image on the inside is Prom Queen Tilda (but I like to think she looks like a princess) :) I colored her with copics (dress and shoes: R81, R83, R85; skin: E00, E01, RV21; hair; E33, E35, E37). I cut her out and then added Stardust Stickles to her crown and shoes. The "Happily Ever After" sentiment is from Verve. The "Once Upon a Time" sentiment on the front is from Studio G. For some finishing touches, I used my SU ticket corner punch around the corners of the panels and added pearls. I also added some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

Whew, this was a long post, if you're still with me, thanks for reading this far :) In celebration of books and the joy of reading, if you leave me a comment today listing your favorite books, you will be put into a drawing for some blog candy. The winner will receive some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and a few other surprises. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by Monday, April 26 to be entered into the drawing. My favorite book of all time is To Kill a Mockingbird. What a wonderful story. Right now I'm reading the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber and I am LOVING them! I highly recommend them.

Thank you all so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend.

Sweet Pea Stamps Customer Blog Hop

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday! I hope you are all having a wonderful day. I have a lot to share with you today so I'll keep my chit chat short. As you know, I adore Sweet Pea Stamps. The company is celebrating its one year anniversary and today, Lynette, the owner of Sweet Pea Stamps, has invited all of her customers to join in a blog hop to celebrate. Our challenge was to create a birthday or anniversary card using Sweet Pea stamps. I am so excited to share my cards with you. I created two birthday cards using the same layout, but different papers and images.

For my first card, I just had to ink up this brand new image called Blue Rose Tattoo. I colored the image with copics (RV 21, 23, 25, E00, E01, E11, B000, B02, G24, G28, E33, E35, E37). Next, I created my card base from SU cardstock. The design paper is from K & Co. I used my SU ticket corner punch on all corners and added pearls (from AC Moore). I tied the double looped bow with my awesome Bow Easy. I then added some Primas and some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts for a finishing touch. The sentiment is also from Sweet Pea Stamps and I think it makes a perfect birthday card greeting. What do you think?

For my second card today, I inked up this gorgeous image called Enchanted Gold. I colored the image with copics (R81, R83, R85, G24, G28, E33, E35, E37, E00, E01, E11). I then inked around the image with SU's Pretty in Pink ink. Next, I created my card base out of SU cardstock. The design paper is from K&Co. I again used my SU ticket corner punch on the corners and added pearls. I also used my Martha Stewart edge punch on the top panel of design paper. Finally, I added roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

Thank you so much Lynette for creating such fun and magical stamps. These stamps are so "me" and it is truly a joy to work with them. Thank you to all my friends who stop by my blog every day. Your encouragement means the world to me. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll see you back here tomorrow :)

Grinning Cats

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are having a wonderful day. Whew, it's been a long time since my last post, I've been so busy I haven't had much time in the craft room. Luckily, I was able to get some time in yesterday so I would have a card to share with you today :)

For my card, I decided to ink up this adorable Alice and Wonderland image from the Elaine Cox Art Collection from Sweet Pea Stamps. I stamped the image three times onto PTI white cardstock. I then colored the images with copics and then popped the cat twice and Alice three times, just to give some added dimension to the scene.

Here's a view from the side so you can see the layers:

Next, I created my card base out of SU cardstock (Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue). The design paper is from My Mind's Eye (Penny Lane collection). The sentiment is from the Alice Sentiments set from Sweet Pea Stamps. For a finishing touch, I added some Primas and some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you all so much for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow for the Sweet Pea Customer Blog Hop (I'm so excited!!) :)

Enchanted Fairy

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday! I am so behind on leaving comments on your beautiful blogs. I hope to get caught up today, I've missed seeing your beautiful creations. It's just been so crazy busy here! I did have a chance to get back into the craft room last night and I wanted to share another card with you.

I just love this image from Sweet Pea Stamps, I think she's one of my favorites (of course, I say that about all of their stamps :) ). This particular image is called Forest Blue (but of course, I had to be a rebel and color her in pink LOL :) ). I colored the image with copics (dress and wings: RV04, RV06, RV09; hair: E33, E35, E37; skin: E00, E01, E11, RV21). Next, I created my card base out of SU Cardstock. The design paper is also from Stampin Up (it's a retired set of patterned paper, I can't remember its name). For some finishing touches, I added a ribbon and a bow (tied with my Bow Easy), a heart charm, pearls, and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. I hope you are having a wonderful week. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to be back tomorrow with another card to share.

Gwendolyn

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! :) I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are having a wonderful day. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been a little under the weather (I think it's just allergies), but am feeling better now. I was able to get back into the craft room last night and I have a card to share with you today.

For my card, I decided to ink up this beautiful stamp from Kraftin Kimmmie Stamps. This particular image is called Gwendolyn. I think she's absolutely gorgeous. My coloring truly doesn't do her justice, but I wanted to give it a try anyway :) I inked the image with Memento black ink, stamped it onto PTI cardstock and colored it with copics. I used R81, R83, R85, and R89 for her dress and wings, and E29, E35, E37, W6, and W8 for the horse. I added Diamond Stickles to her fairy wings. I then lightly inked around the image with Memento Perfect Plumeria ink. Next I created my card base out of SU cardstock (Chocolate Chip and Rose Red). My design paper is from DCWV's Once Upon a Time stack. I added a bow (tied with my Bow Easy), pearls, and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts for some finishing touches. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. Thank you all so much for stopping by. Hope you have a great day and I hope to see you back here tomorrow :)

Once Upon a Time

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday! :) I hope you are having a wonderful day. Things are finally calming down a bit at work so I'll be able to use the rest of the week to get caught up on things. It's still gorgeous weather here, it's going to be in the 80s again today. Love it! :)

For my card today, I decided to use another Tilda image from Magnolia's new Fairytale line of stamps. This particular image is called Spellcaster Tilda and I think she is absolutely adorable :) I inked my image with Memento ink, stamped it onto PTI white cardstock, and colored the image with copics (dress: R81, R83, R85, R89; shoes: E55, E57; hair: Y21, E33, E35; wand: Y21, Y23). I then cut the image out using my rectangle nestabilities. I then sponged around the image with SU's Pretty in Pink ink and then added some Diamond Stickles to the wand. Next, I created my card base out of SU cardstock (Regal Rose and Barely Banana). The design paper is from K&Co's Wild Raspberry stack. I used my SU ticket corner punch on all corners and added pearls. I added a ribbon and a Prima rose for a finishing touch. The sentiment is from Stamping Bella. What do you think?

Thank you all so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you back here tomorrow :)

Do You Believe?

Hi everyone and Happy Monday! :) I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. Ours was pretty low key, but really nice. The weather here is gorgeous, it was in the 80s all weekend, which was awesome. Hubby and I got lots of chores done around the house on Saturday. We also bought Sherlock Holmes and watched it (great movie, I definitely recommend it). Yesterday, we had a lovely relaxing day and a fabulous dinner in celebration of Easter. It was a great weekend, I just wish it was a little bit longer, I have a crazy day at work today :)

I was so excited, on Friday I got my newest order from Sweet Pea Stamps. I had ordered all of the new releases and couldn't wait to play. This image is brand new from the ching-chou kuik Fantasy Art Collection (sheet 13, plate #32). I colored the image with copics (dress and wings: R81, R83, R85; hair: E33, E35, E37; skin: E00, E01, E11; leopard: E51, E53, E55). I then sponged around the image with SU's Pretty in Pink ink. Next I created my card base out of SU cardstock (Rose Red and Chocolate Chip). The design paper is from K&Co. I used my SU ticket corner punch on all the corners and added pearls (from Michael's). I added a ribbon and a double looped bow (tied with my bow easy). I made the hat pin myself and put it through the center of the bow. Finally, I added primas and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts for a finishing touch. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. Thank you all so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day and I'll see you back here tomorrow.

Fairytale Tilda and a Sweet Pea pirate

Hi everyone and Happy Friday! :) The work week is almost over, thank goodness. It's been a crazy one this week and I'm looking forward to a little down time this weekend :) Any exciting plans for the weekend? Hubby and I are just going to celebrate Easter at home this year. And of course, we'll watch the Mountaineers take on Duke tomorrow . . . Let's Go Mountaineers! :):) Should be a pretty low key weekend, sometimes those are the best kind :) Well, since I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, I have two cards to share with you today so I'll keep my chit chat short.

For my first card, I used this adorable new Magnolia stamp from the Fairytale collection. This particular image is called Fairytale Tilda and I think she's just precious. I colored her with copics (hair: Y21, E33; skin: E00, E01, E11, R20; dress: R81, R83, R85; frog: G24, G28) and then added some Diamond Stickles to her wings. I then cut the image out using my circle nestabilities. While the image was still in the nestability die, I sponged around the image with SU's Pretty in Pink ink. Next, I created my card base out of SU cardstock (Certainly Celery and Rose Red). The design paper is from The Paper Company (I got it at Michael's). For a finishing touch, I added a bow (tied with my Bow Easy) and some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

For my second card today, I used another gorgeous image from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection from Sweet Pea Stamps. This particular image is called Caribbean Treasure and boy was this image fun to color. I colored the image with copics and sponged around the image with SU Bashful Blue ink. I added gold glitter to her bracelets, earring, and the treasure in the treasure chest. Next I created my card base out of SU cardstock (Brocade Blue and Rose Red). The design paper is from My Mind's Eye (Home Collection). For some finishing touches, I added pearls, a bow, a heart charm (from Michael's), and a rose from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

Thanks for reading this far, I didn't mean for this to be such a long post :) As always, thank you all so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend.

Big Hugs, Christine :)
